Much of this information came from the notes of Gladys Barker Carter. Some of this info I have been able to confirm, but much of it is Family Lore. It was Aunt Glady's notes and pictures that got me started on this project several years ago.
James Barker, Sr and his wife (Name unknown at present) were born and Married in England. At the time of James Barker, Jr's birth (April 16, 1834) they were living at Kings Lynn, Norfolkshire on the Wash,(near Greenwich) England.
Sometime between 1834 and 1845, James, his wife and 3 children immigrated to Canada, where they settled in York County, Ontario. (I have found that a James Barker and wife traveled from Hamilton to Port Dover in 1845 and have assumed that this was him. This was from Immigration records for Canada.)
They may have had eighteen children, but I only have records of 3 names, and info on James Barker, Jr.
James Barker, Jr., married Rhoda Smith, Dec. 18, 1856 and lived in Binbrook Township, near Hamilton, Ont. Canada, until 1868. They then moved to Charlotteville, eleventh concession, Norfolk County, Ontario Canada where they lived the rest of their lives.
They had eleven children, who were:
James died September 26, 1888. Rhoda married again and her name
was changed to Rhoda Quinn. She died November 16, 1908.

Sam and Mary Ann Barker were married in Delhi, Ont.
Canada on May 27, 1885. They went to Saginaw, Michigan for
about a year, then returned to Norfolk county, Ont. Canada,
where they settled on a farm on the 11th concession of
Charlottville, about a mile from Sam's childhood home.
They had 3 Children:
Mary Ann Gifford Barker died from cancer of the liver on March 5, 1932. Samuel died February 20, 1951.
George Lessly Barker married " Leota Eola Bingleman" b February 25, 1888. They married October 18, 1904, at the home of her parents Lydia Jane "Stuart" Bingleman and John Henry Bingleman. They lived in Rockford, Preston, Brantford and Hamilton then bought some land and built their home in the eighth concession of Charlottville Township, Near Simcoe, Ont. Canada. They had twelve children:
Leota Eola Died on 1 June, 1963 of Diabetes and heart failure. George Lessly died on 11 September 1971. Both were living at their homestead near Simcoe at the time of their deaths.
